Air travel may be restricted, but staff and students at St. Ann (Ancaster) Catholic Elementary School were still able to take in a bit of French culture.
Every Catholic Education Week, the school hosts a French Café, complete with French inspired food, music and art.
“It is one of the biggest events we host and means so much to the community,” said principal Teresa Nocciolino. “It is always well attended by parents as well.”
Despite school closures, Nocciolino brainstormed with French teachers Serena Bilich and Kimberley Hunt to see how they could recreate the day.
“I didn’t want to let the tradition pass,” she said.
Instead, the school opted for a virtual French Café, inviting students and their families to post their versions of the event on the LMS platform.
“The student response was great!”
